Student Matinee FAQ

HOW MUCH ARE TICKETS?
Tickets are just $6, regardless of age. Every 21st ticket is free, to help alleviate the cost of chaperones and drivers. We recommend at least one chaperone per 20 students. Everyone — including teachers, parents, and bus drivers — must be included in your order if they want to attend. Please note that due to fire code, every person in attendance must have a ticket. This includes infants.

HOW DO I RESERVE SEATS?
Complete the Online Form or call the box office at 859.622.7469 to make your reservation. Our staff will issue an invoice with the total amount due and the due date, which is two weeks prior to the performance. Adjustments to your reservation may be made, depending on seat availability, until the due date. Final confirmation of the total number attending must be made at least two weeks prior to the performance. Full payment may be made at any time prior to the due date by check, credit card, or cash.

I AM A TEACHER, AND SOME PARENTS WANT TO ATTEND THE PERFORMANCE. CAN THEY BUY TICKETS FROM YOU?
For the safety and security of all involved, we require all parents and chaperone tickets to be purchased through the teacher who made the original reservation. This way, teachers and administrators are aware of every adult attending, and no confusion will arise regarding payments and safety concerns.

WE HAD A STUDENT OR CHAPERONE SICK THE DAY OF THE SHOW. CAN I GET A REFUND?
All sales are final. We are only able to issue a refund or exchange if the school day is cancelled or delayed by your school district.

ARE STUDY GUIDES AVAILABLE?
Study guides are available for some of the performances. Please see Educator Resources for more information.

WHAT ARE YOUR SERVICES FOR STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES?
Please let us know at the time of your reservation if anyone in your group needs assistance or particular seating due to hearing, visual, or mobility needs, or for any other reason. Please note that certain needs may require students to be seated in the appropriate section of the theatre that may separate them from the rest of the class, but be assured that we do our best to keep classes seated together.

Personal Amplified Listeners (PAL) for persons with hearing impairments are available upon request. The EKU Center needs a minimum of three weeks’ notice to provide American Sign Language interpreters.

CAN OUR GROUP TAKE A LUNCH BREAK AT THE EKU CENTER AFTER THE SHOW?
We are unable to accommodate lunch breaks due to space limitations. If you would like to arrange a meal at an EKU Dining facility, please call 859.623.2183. A number of parks near the EKU Center may also be available. Please contact the City of Richmond Parks Department for more information.
